How to Clean Your Car

Cleaning your car is an important part of ensuring that it stays in the best shape possible. Not only will it help keep your car more presentable, but it can also help prevent oxidation of your paint and increase the value of your vehicle, too.  The first thing you need is to gather your tools and supplies. You’ll need a few things on hand, including a vacuum, microfiber towels, polish, tire dressing, wax and sponges.

The first step is to wash your car – use a good set of sponges, or microfiber sponges to get the job done. You should also use a very mild soap – nothing harsh. Rinse the vehicle and then wash your car using circular motions. Wash one section at a time and then rinse it dry. Once you have washed the entire car, rinse it once more and dry with microfiber towels to help remove water spots. Clean your wheels and tires well, and then apply tire dressing to give them some shine.

Once you have dried your car, it’s time to wax it. You can use microfiber towels or microfiber sponges to apply the wax – a light coat is ideal. Allow the wax to dry and then buff it off. You can buff it by hand, or use an electronic polisher to do the job.

When the exterior is clean, it’s time to tackle the interior. Use a portable vacuum to clean up the dirt in your floorboards, and then clean your upholstery and dash, center console and other parts of the car. If you have leather interior, you will need a leather chamois and leather protectant to do the job right.
